For Continental US Only (Not Including Hawaii & Alaska) Standard shipping is available for Continental US Only (Sorry, not available to Hawaii & Alaska - click here). Sorry, we do not accept Canadian and International orders at this time. All orders are shipped by Standard Shipping - UPS ground, US Postal so we can not ship to PO Boxes. For standard shipping orders, please allow up to 2 to 7 business days to receive your order. (Orders are processed within 2 business days and delivered within 1 to 5 days from our warehouse in San Jose, California.)

PAYMENT OPTIONS

We accept Master Card, Visa, and American Express credit cards. Sorry, we do not accept Discover credit cards, money orders, COD's or personal checks.

RETURN POLICY

Here at The Record Shop, Customer satisfaction is our goal. If you are unhappy with any purchase you receive from us, we will gladly take back any product for store credit/exchange within 14 days (if returned in the original condition with tags). NO CASH REFUNDS.

For your protection, please send all returns via UPS or insured parcel post. Unless we shipped an order in error or the product received is defective, return shipping fees are not refundable. If we made a mistake, your account will be credited for the return shipping fees upon receipt of the item by our return center.

How to return, step by step:

  2. All returns must be approved by a customer service representative here at The Record Shop. First call us at (408) 947-0552 or email us at therecordshopsj@sbcglobal.net to receive a Return Authorization Number. Place the Authorization number under our address on your package to insure quick processing of your return.
  3. On the inside of package put a copy of your packing slip and please note the reason for the return.
  4. Indicate if you prefer an exchange or refund to your credit card (to the card originally used). *
  5. In the event of an exchange, be sure to check our site and make sure we have the replacement item in your size.
  6. Circle the name and address where the exchange should be sent. If the address is different please indicate new shipping address.
  7. Pack and seal your return securely. Packages must be returned prepaid -- Sorry, we cannot accept C.O.D. deliveries.
*Credit card refunds:

All credits will be placed on the credit card used for the original purchase. Allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit adjustment to appear on your statement.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY

The Record Shop guarantees that every transaction you make is 100% safe and all of your information is kept confidential. All orders are processed in real time on a secure server.

For added safety, we do not store credit card information on our web server after your order has been processed. This significantly reduces the chances of Internet credit card fraud. Personal information that you provide to us is maintained in secured and private files on our internal systems. The Record Shop will not sell or release your email address or any other information to any other parties.

Audio Returns via Mail

Therecordshopsj.com will exchange an item that was erroneously shipped to you for the correct item or will credit your payment:
  1. If the item is received by Therecordshopsj.com within 14 days of the shipping date; and
  2. The returned item is undamaged and unopened (still in its original plastic wrap).
Therecordshopsj.com will exchange a defective item for a new copy of the same item or will credit your payment:
  1. If the item is received bytherecordshopsj.com within 14 days of the shipping date, and
  2. The item is returned with all of its original packaging and contents.

In addition to the requirements above, items must be returned to the return address included with your order and you must follow the instructions regarding returns that are included with your order, including providing the reason for your return, the nature of any defect, and the original order number. Up to $5.00 return shipping costs will be credited if the return is due to a defect in the item or a therecordshopsj.com error. You will not be charged additional fees for replacement shipments.

Please allow up to three weeks for returns to be processed. We will notify you via email of your credit or exchange. If you paid by check or money order, a Tower Account will be created and credited, or at your option you will receive a refund. If you paid by credit card, you will receive a credit to that account. therecordshopsj.com recommends that you send your returned items via an insured carrier. Therecordshopsj.com is not responsible for lost or damaged returns. If you have questions regarding where to send your return or have additional questions please contact our Customer Care Department.

If your CD or vinyl record is damaged, our Customer Care Department will be happy to mail you a replacement.

Returns at The Record Shop Retail Store

Customers may return an item received from therecordshopsj.com for a full credit to a The Record Shop retail location: San Jose and Burlingame locations.

If the item is returned within 14 days from the date of your shipment confirmation Email. All internet transactions MUST accompany original receipt proof of purchase. No exceptions.

  1. You provide a printed copy of your shipment confirmation email from therecordshopsj.com (displaying prices). If the purchase price is not visible on the shipment confirmation email, the store will verify the price
  2. The returned item is undamaged and unopened (still in its original plastic wrap).

The Record Shop retail stores will only exchange defective/unopened items for another copy of the same item, except in Tijuana, Mexico. Returns will be subject to all Record Shop return policies.

Incorrect or Defective Items

You may return any part of an order to therecordshopsj.com within 14 days of the shipping date. If you receive incorrect or defective merchandise, please return it and we will send you a replacement or issue a full refund. We will credit up to $5 for return shipping if therecordshopsj.com has sent you a product in error or if it is defective. You will not be charged any additional shipping and handling fees for replacement shipments.

If a CD or vinyl record arrives cracked or damaged, please contact us. Our Customer Care Department will be happy to mail you a replacement case. Please allow up to 3 weeks after a returned item is received for processing. We will notify you via email of your refund.

We recommend that you send your return via an insured carrier. We are not responsible for lost returns. If you are not sure where to send your return, or have additional questions please contact our Customer Care Department.
